CANTILENA I
...So she danced then through the godly crowds alone
as her tears did'st guide her feet
Unheard
Alone
LAST DANCE II
CANTILENA II
Yet 'pon her tears did'st minstrels prey
with their saurian own
So they comfort her with thorns
Unheard
Alone
FROST
Where were you this winter
as frost lay upon the ground?
I was not far, for I could feel you sorrow
Not far at all, my love
I was the frost upon the ground
...before spring came
and blue light shone upon winter's frost
and melting snow
I was not far, for I still felt your sorrow
Not far at all, my love
I was the sunlight on the snow...
A NEW WINTER
Darkness failed to cool the summer night
The dying birds wept under starlight
when my barren Earth longed for their song the most
Alas, where were you then?
I was the silence of the thirst-fallen birds
drowning in salty rain
I was not far for I still felt your sorrow
Ne'er far, my love
...Then summer mornings turn to grey
Like sorrow fills my heart, a lifetime turned to grey
Like autumn leaves fall to the ground
Alas, where were you then?
I was the sorrow of fallen autumn leaves
dying upon the ground
I was not far for I called a new winter
Ne'er far, my love
CANTILENA III
But wept too did'st I
for this lonely ballerina as she danced
and for her songs
for they are the trials of one unheard
Alone, as her dance revealed her own
CATHARSIS
Come into my term of doom...
For all who have with minstrels been
are crucified as devils
- That is our fate
Look into the eyes of one who's seen twisted premonitions
of their great, their only way
Tortured by their dragons in your head?
I will give you answers
And hear you once again

Et tu cum fletu
Cum fletu chorea
CANTILENA IV
Darkness she becomes to those in denial of their shadows
Thus their shadows ever darken
as e'er lingers their denial
Cut them down in thou dance, my lovely ballerina
for their thorns are wretched in thou silken skin...
Save thineself
For thine could'st be the dance of kings
bringing tears of joy into regal eyes
...Without their thorns, thou beauty would'st never die...
...and thou songs would'st never die
Curse ye all minstrels who preyed upon the beauty of the songstress
For loved her did'st I...
I would'st wed thee, ballerina
For thine love I would'st live, and I would'st die
And I would dance an unheard one should thou will'st, my ballerina
Cum fletu chorea...
DON'T CRY, WOLF
"Thou hath deceived me", saith the fallen wolf-crier
"None did'st believe me, no, but blessed me with fire
Thus spoke I nay more, nor did'st holt thou desire
Ne'er more to watch o'er thou bleating empire"
So remember tomorrow, remember this night
Remember the hiss of the waning firelight
that lost unto darkness in the still evening air
That lost like the widow to her throes of despair
And calling thereafter
- the tears in the laughter
- the song in a new wolven heart
Cry wolf when you see me
and bow down before me
Before a man that I will torn apart
Cry wolf
Don't cry, wolf
Her song lures me to her, the call of the night
to run and hunt with her through desolate moonlight
And that have I longed for, to die by her hand
and creep like her shadow o'er a desolate land
And calling thereafter
- the tears in the laughter
- the song in a new wolven heart
Cry wolf when you see me
and bow down before me
Before a man that I will torn apart
Cry wolf
Don't cry, wolf
CANTILENA V
Weeping too...
...and wept for thee did'st I
A thousand tears fell from my eyes, to die...
...and in each one a thousand dreams gone by...
And for each dream a thousand more I'd cry...
...For the greatest of all hopes did'st die
as the greatest song of all passed by...
...unheard
Cum fletu chorea
Cantilena lupina
Monoceros cantilena...

A REQUIEM FOR THE EXQUISITE (PART I)
Unicorn, thou hath seen this cage before
Thou hath heard it's madness calling
Thou hath seen thine own silver blood come pouring
from thine own sweet dancing hooves
Nightingale, you falter
Thine voice, thine wings doth falter
for all thine dreams are of falling
Falling...
Why? For minstrels who crave thine tears?
...to fall unheard, alone...
...to never sing again.
A REQUIEM FOR THE EXQUISITE (PART II)
...and the unicorn did'st fall
as the minstrel did'st cage the now ever songless bird
Into madness
...and the nightingale fell
as the blood poured from her still glistening tearful eyes
into madness
When will she ever learn
that her song could'st have become the greatest song ever sung?
The greatest hope
When will she ever learn
that her dance could'st have been tears of joy in the eyes of kings?
O! Ballerina!
O! Ballerina!
I'll remember the night she bled into my arms
I'll remember the night I wept into her arms with her
Cantilena lupina
Monoceros cantilena
O! Ballerina!.
THE MERMAN'S TALE (FIRST MOVEMENT)
Instrumental
IN SUDDEN DARKNESS (PART II)
Show their eyes the darkening land they have tried to conquer
Let them sit in the bloodied fields and see: -
- The weeping child who offered her tears to the thirsty
yet they refused to drink from the salty lake of her eyes
And the blackened wastes of her heart...
- The forlorn face that finally succumbs to the sadness of an old man's waiting hours
and the lines that scar his face
(at the end)
of a long and painful voyage...
...That joined us in the sudden darkness
with an ever binding embrace...
Fall, sterile God, in darkness
Your throne shall be engulfed in flames, ending faith
Awakening their land to the darkness that surrounds them
The false laughter of the weak is fear
of the lives their light has taken...
....So may the call of darkness scream above their congregation's lies
"Don't believe them anymore"
Don't believe them anymore
